Developer Rydon Homes Ltd is to dig exploratory trenches in Hillside Field. The work is planned to start on Tuesday 26th October and last for three days. In giving notice, Rydon’s Strategic Land Manager Kate Outterside said:
‘We anticipate doing some archaeological trial trenches next week on the site. This will involve digging 10 trenches and then an archaeologist surveying those for any archaeological artefacts. We expect this to start Tuesday and last 3 days. Lewes District Council are aware this is taking place.’
